🚸 A Proud Moment for Our School, and an Important Message for Our Community 🚸

2nd Dec 2025

We’re delighted to share that several of our pupils recently took part in a BBC News piece focusing on the ongoing issue of road safety around schools.

They spoke with honesty, confidence and real passion about the challenges they face on their journeys each day. Their concerns about traffic, speeding and unsafe driving near school gates are issues that affect all of us: pupils, families, staff and our wider community.

By stepping forward to be interviewed, our young people demonstrated maturity and a strong sense of responsibility. They didn’t just speak for themselves; they spoke for every child who deserves to feel safe on their way to and from school. Highlighting the need for safer routes and more considerate driving isn’t always easy, but they embraced the moment with courage and pride.

🚦 Road safety isn’t just a transport issue, it’s a shared community responsibility.

When children take the time to speak up, it’s important that we listen. Their experiences can spark real and meaningful change.

We’re grateful to the BBC, as well as our local papers, including the Fermanagh Herald, Ulster Herald and Impartial Reporter, for giving our pupils the chance to share their views. Most importantly, we want to recognise our students:

✨ for speaking so thoughtfully

✨ for representing their school so well

✨ for showing leadership

✨ and for reminding us why this conversation matters.

As a school, we’ll continue to promote road safety, work with local partners and encourage our pupils to be active citizens who aren’t afraid to use their voices.

To our pupils: thank you. You made us proud, and you gave our community something important to reflect on.
